Disaster Recovery Plan

A plan designed to deal with a specific "disaster" event. The events of relevance clearly depend very much on the particular enterprise and function, but could be loss of a data centre, a plant failure, a fire or earthquake or other natural event.

A very large disaster may become a business continuity event. See also Business Continuity Plan.

Dodd-Frank Act

Formally called the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the act redefines financial regulation in the wake of the 2007-2009 US financial crisis. It addresses financial regulation, consumer protection, tools to address subsequent financial crises, and a number of other provisions.

Under its miscellaneous provisions it has a requirement (to be further defined) that requires disclosure of conflict minerals in or near the Democratic Republic of Congo. Noteworthy as some of these minerals are essential to the manufacture of modern electronic devices.
